Cause and effect

The path to success often consists of overcoming problems successfully leading to a competitive advantage by raising products and services to a new level. A professional and focused approach is of great benefit. The application of cause-and-effect models saves a lot of time and enables a precise analysis of occurring problems or defects. In combination with other tools, we can help you implement and integrate these tools in your company to achieve long-term success.

5-Why Method

The 5W or 5-Why method is a simple and effective approach to identify causes and effects quickly. It consists of asking the question "why" about a problem or defect and responding to each answer with another "why" question. In five steps, one can usually get to the initial cause of the problem. This method is particularly effective when used in combination with other tools and enables quick responses to acute problems. The correct formulation of the questions and the integration into internal processes and follow-up methods are crucial to get the maximum benefit from the application. Our consultants can provide you with a tailor-made overall concept in combination with other tools and systems to use this method effectively in your company.

Ishikawa diagram

The Ishikawa diagram, also known as a cause-effect or fishbone diagram, is a graphical representation of all potential causes that have a significant influence on a result. It is often used to analyse problems or potential sources of error. In this process, main and secondary causes are developed from four to eight main influencing variables, completely checked, weighted according to their influence and the causes with the highest probability of occurrence are determined.

By checking the identified causes with the practice, errors can be eliminated in a targeted manner and the relevant causes can be presented transparently. Our consultants can help you to identify and eliminate critical or frequently occurring problems and derive preventive measures together with other tools to avoid these problems in the future. Competent support speeds up the identification process and the trained external view ensures that all possible causes are considered, including those that might be overlooked internally.
